Economic Development Fund Grant and Loan Program (EDFGLP) is established under Chapter 20, Article XIII, Sec. 20-73 through Sec 20-75 of the Montgomery County Code. The purpose of the program is to aid the economic development of the County by assisting private employers who are located or plan to locate or substantially expand
operations in the County. The most common forms of assistance are loans or grants of public funds.
Frequently, this assistance is leveraged with additional incentives offered by the Maryland Department of Commerce. Other permitted forms of assistance are: transfers of real or personal property as otherwise authorized by law; the provision of services, when otherwise authorized, by a County agency; plans, studies, or other technical assistance; or an equity investment as authorized by Section 20-75A of the Montgomery County Code. There is no Sunset Date for the EDFGLP.
Program Goal: Strategic attraction and retention projects in targeted industry sectors that generate significant economic development benefits in the County.
**Approved Projects are projects, with offers made and accepted, but funds have not yet been disbursed. Projects approved for funding in one year may actually be funded at a future date when conditions for disbursement have been met.**
